YAMANEMU Forest
【展示内容】
作家・長坂絵夢と写真家・山根朋子によるアートユニット「YAMANEMU」が、鉄と人間、自然を結ぶ“循環”をテーマに、2020年秋と2021年冬の季節を跨いで、青森県十和田市の八甲田地域に広がるブナ林を中心に自然観察と作品撮影を重ねてきた一冊の作品集と制作記録を展示する。
異常気象は、森林などの自然破壊が大きく起因していると言われています。
長坂絵夢と山根朋子が記録した八甲田地域の豊かな生態系を育む水源・ブナ林の自然観察と作品写真は、どのような「きざし」を私たちに伝えてくれるのか、注視したいと思います。
Between Autumn 2020 and Winter 2021, the art unit “YAMANEMU”, comprising of writer Emu Nagasaka and photographer Tomoko Yamane, undertook a series of observations of the beech forests of the ecologically rich Hakkoda region of Towada, Aomori Prefecture and created works based on the theme of “circulation” linking iron, humans and nature. The exhibition will feature a catalogue of these works and a record of their production process.
Abnormal weather is said to be largely attributable to the destruction of forests and other natural habitats.
What signs of this change can we glean from Emu Nagasaka and Tomoko Yamane’s observations and photographic works of the beech forests and water sources which nurture Hakkoda region’s rich ecosystem?
